Lake Nohur, Gabala

Lake Nohur is a small, mirror-still lake set among forested hills near Gabala, framed by the snow-capped peaks of the Greater Caucasus on clear days. It's one of the most photographed natural spots in northern Azerbaijan, particularly at sunrise when the water turns perfectly still and reflective.

Wooden walkways and a small café let visitors linger lakeside. Rowing boats are available for hire in summer. The drive there winds through Nohur village, a traditional highland community largely unchanged by tourism.
