Emergency Numbers and Traveller Safety in Azerbaijan

For an immediate threat to life or safety, contact local emergency services first. Commonly used numbers are 112 for the unified emergency service, 101 for fire, 102 for police and 103 for ambulance. Verify local instructions with your hotel or confirmed guide because service access and language support can change.

When calling

State the type of emergency, exact location, nearest landmark, number of people involved and a callback number. Keep the line open, follow instructions and ask a hotel receptionist, guide or Azerbaijani-speaking contact to assist when communication is difficult.

Medical preparation

Carry prescribed medication in original packaging, a short medical summary and the insurer’s assistance number. For non-life-threatening care, contact the insurer before choosing a private clinic when the policy requires pre-authorisation.

Trip-contact plan

Share the daily route with someone you trust, keep the driver or guide number offline and agree on a meeting point if the group separates. Do not rely on a tour-company email number as a substitute for police, ambulance or fire services.
