Full-day wine experience in Azerbaijan's most scenic wine country — 170 km from Baku
The Ismayilli district in the foothills of the Caucasus is Azerbaijan's heartland for wine and traditional village life. This full-day tour takes you to three family wineries where you'll taste red and white wines made from indigenous grape varieties that have been grown here for 2,000 years, as well as Azerbaijan's famous pomegranate and mulberry wines.
Between wineries you'll walk through mountain villages, eat a traditional lunch with a local family, and visit the 19th-century Azerbaijani poet Mirza Fatali Akhundov's historic home in the region. A lunch of grilled meats, fresh cheeses, mountain herbs, and homemade bread is included.
