Alov Qüllələri · Baku city centre · Azerbaijan's most photographed skyline
The Flame Towers are three skyscrapers — 182m, 161m, and 165m tall — that have defined Baku's skyline since their completion in 2012. Designed in the shape of flames and clad in 10,000 LED panels, they transform into a spectacular animated fire show after dark, visible from across the city and from the Caspian Sea.
The towers contain the Fairmont Baku hotel (the most luxurious in the city), luxury apartments, and offices. The flame design is a reference to Azerbaijan's identity as the "Land of Fire" — a name earned from the natural gas fires that have burned across the Absheron Peninsula since ancient times.
The best viewing point is the Martyrs' Lane hilltop park directly behind the towers, or from the Baku Boulevard along the Caspian shore — where the towers reflect in the water at night.
