About these tours

Summer tours in Azerbaijan shift the emphasis away from Baku's 35°C heat toward the cooler mountain destinations of Gabala and Sheki, where temperatures run 10–15 degrees lower and the Caucasus foothills are fully green. The Caspian coast near Baku offers beach and sea-breeze alternatives. July brings the Gabala International Music Festival — one of the Caucasus region's best outdoor events, and a genuinely strong reason to time a trip around a specific week.

Frequently asked questions
Is Baku too hot in summer?
July and August regularly exceed 35°C in Baku, which is uncomfortably hot for outdoor sightseeing in the middle of the day. Our summer itineraries schedule Old City visits for early morning and late evening, and emphasise the cooler northern highlands for the main portion of the trip.
When is the Gabala International Music Festival?
Typically held across two weekends in mid-to-late July. Exact dates change annually — we'll confirm for your target year when you enquire. Tickets and festival-adjacent accommodation sell out early.
Are Caspian beaches good?
The Caspian coast near Baku has sandy beaches and calm, warm water in summer — generally clean and less crowded than Mediterranean resorts. The water is technically a lake, so no salt and no waves.
What's the best summer destination if I hate heat?
Gabala and Sheki are significantly cooler than Baku — aim for a Baku-minimal summer itinerary if heat is a concern, spending just 1–2 nights in the capital and the rest in the highlands.
